Matt,
I had the exact thing happen with mine. I yanked the carpeting out and
cleaned up everything with Acetone. Be advised I am a chemist by trade and
maybe don't head chemical warnings as well as one should. Acetone is a
carcinigen (like most organic solvents) so make sure you wear gloves and do
the cleaning in a well ventilated area AWAY FROM ALL OPEN FLAMES, Acetone is
VERY flammable. I used a small scrub brush on the floor carpet, if you do
this be careful none splashes on your face. It is a good idea not to let it
get on any of your skin as it will take the oil out of your skin just as
well as it removes brake fluid from carpeting. There may be a safer
alternative, I tried Ethanol, Methanol, and Iso-Propyl Alcohol, none worked
nearly as well as Acetone. O-Xylene might work but is much more expensive.
Methyl Ethyl Ketone and Methylene Chloride will probably work but are much
nastier than Acetone, I wouldn't recommend either.
Good Luck and Be Safe,
-SweatyEddy
