Hi,
On the subject of the BATT-light; if I look at the
schematic it is supposed to come on when there is a
difference in voltage between the battery and the
alternator. That can be the alternator outputting
more than the Battery can handle (ie a defective
Voltage regulator), or the Battery giving more than
the alternator (most likely, and certainly the
situation at startup).
By using an LED-replacement, you'd cancel out
the former indication since an LED only works
in one direction/polarity...
Certainly not something I'd want after having
seen a blown up battery because of a defective
regulator outputting over 30V!!!
The light DID come on then, but she (it was a female
driver) thought "it would go away by itself"... :-(
BTW this was NOT on a DeLorean, but the
schematic on this part is the same...
