That's really odd; I can relate as my DeLorean is my first stick ever
too. But given the fact that I'm 24, been driving for quite a while,
and was highly er, MOTIVATED to learn, I just jumped in, threw her in
gear and zoom. I've ground my gears before a bit, but nothing serious
has seemed to happen with my trans at all.
