I respectfully disagree, (partially). The manual clearly states that
the ECU converts and amplifies signals from the pulse coil in the
dizzy and sends them to the coil. I do think I understand what you're
saying though.
The ECU switches ground on and off to the coil, allowing the magnetic
field to build and collapse as needed to the high voltages necessary
to fire a spark plug.
I'm still waiting to hear from anyone who's had good results with the
Bosch 18Kv coil. :)
As far as checking my plugs goes...I've ordered a new set anyway so
I'll be checking them when I replace them this week.
