Yes,  Charles Muffley in PA did.  Went to the salvage & obtained Volvo 
intakes & carb.  He reported getting 30-32 MPG highway.   He also installed 
a solid SS clutch line & told me how to do so. For <$10 I did, too.     He 
is gone, now, unfortunately.   Great guy!  Don't know if his widow, Gladys, 
still has their DMC, or how she is doing.      Anyone know?     Drive
