If you call a parts supplier and ask them to help you get a part
elsewhere... I think it's understandable to be unhelpful. Of course if
they didn't have it in stock, that's a different story.
It's certainly not the sort of thing you usually see from DMC Houston.
But many parts stores have the DeLorean in their computers and/or catalogs
and you shouldn't need the Renault part number.

It's an R30.

The whole final drive assembly is different. The ring gear is on the
other side, but the modifications are more extensive that that. You might
be able to use a Renault transmission, by replacing it with a DeLorean
final drive.

I recently purchased the CQ magazine for the article. It includes an
interview with Delorean about his plans for new cars. It is titled "Wings
of
Desire" (Pg 320)and says Delorean is working with Burt Rutan (the man who
designed the airplane that flew around the world nonstop). The lower
priced
car will weigh about 1,450 lbs and have a 250-275 hp engine that Delorean
claims will be good for 3.2-3.5 seconds 0-60 times. It is made for the
youth
of America (drawing back to the muscle cars)
The 2nd car is supposed to be very expense and have a 1,250hp engine
(which Delorean laughs after saying) and will be entirely
handmade...possibly
in Italy and it is about 85 % done.

Cincinnatti, and can no doubt give you an address. (I have a flyer at

I can think of two reasons for the pulsating, a pulsating fuel
pressure (which you can check with a fuel pressure gauge) or a
problem
in the secondary ignition circuit such as a bad ignition wire, fouled
spark plug, arcing dist cap. It could also be an unbalance in the
fuel
distibuter. Thinking more about it I would probably suspect a fuel
injector that is out of spec. Every time it's turn comes around it
puts out the wrong amount of fuel. Knowing how touchy the fuel system
is to dirt that would probably be my first choice. A quick test of
the
ignition system, run the car at night in a dark spot with the engine
cover open, put your hands in your pockets and while someone can rev
the engine observe the ignition system for blue glows or sparks.
You cannot check the spark plug boots this way because of the deep
wells. If the wires are origional just replace them. The injectors
can
be tested and posssibly cleaned by someone with access to an injector
tester, you don't always have to replace them.
