Subject: missing archive Vol # 439
I'm missing volume 439 of the DML archives. If anyone has a copy, please
e-mail it to me. I'm not the only one missing it. It seems that the
original version that got mailed out was empty. This is back from
November
'98, but hey... it seems I'm always trying to catch up on everything.

Once I was at a gas station waiting my turn to fill up when a guy comes
walking up to me with his dog and says "Can you take me back to 1972?" I
was
sorta in a bad mood already that day so I just closed my door on him and
turned up my radio. I plan to get a little note pad with all the stupid
BTTF
jokes already in there, one on each page, and whenever someone says one to
me
I will just add it to the list. I also get the usual drug jokes and the
JZD
jokes about him "still" being in jail. Also last year when I was at my
boss'
BBQ a couple of his friends thought he was dead. There was nothing I
could
say to get it through their heads that he was alive...not even that i MET
him
in person in Cleveland and had my car there with his signature on my glove
box door. I eventually had to call Ken Koncelik's house and try and have
him
talk to them, but I got his wife Chris on the phone and she was able to
give
me info that finally got to them that he was indeed alive and well. Its
unbelievable how many stories and uninformed people out there.

[ Modertors note : Unless someone has something new to add to this I'm
going to end this subject as it seems to be attracting a lot of 'me too'
responses. ]
I keep the doors open up to around 10 mph. This of course would be only
when
I am in a parade, or when I am driving in a parking lot near a lot of cute
girls. Basically, just when showing off. But I wouldn't drive any faster
than
10-15 mph. I'm no tech expert, but I don't think it would do any good to
be
going a good speed and pop 'em open. I don't know...

Subject: Melted fuses and charred wires
OK, I got a D 3 weeks ago and it's awesome.. Runs and drives well,
but low beams do not work among other things(high beams work). I
changed out all fuses except top middle (it is melted in place and I
can't get out....yet). Anyone have any ideas as to what my 1st step
should be? Like what I should replace or not to begin with. There
seems to be other wires in the area charred as well.. I am a newbie so
any help is greatly appreciated. You guys seem to stick together
pretty well.. It's nice to see.. Post and/or reply to
JONAS19992000@xxxxxxxxx////thanks

Subject: A Local DeLorean, Vin #004260
I found a DeLorean for sale here in California and need some advice. Does
anyone on this list have any information about
VIN #004260? It's a 1981 model with grey interior. I tried looking it up
in the VIN history on delorean.com with no luck.
Anyway it looks to be in excellent condition. The front and rear facias
might need some repainting and there are some
small rips in the headrests. The body is 100% perfect from what I can
tell, and it only has 20,000 miles. But I am aware
that low mileage can be a bad thing if the car was not stored properly.
I will go for a test drive next time I see it, and maybe take it to a
mechanic to check it over.
Anyone have advice?

Subject: Fuse 2 short
I need to fix the left side park lights that blow the fuse when the
light switch is pressed. The thing is I don't want to tear the car
down trying to find a burnt wire or other cause of the short. Has
anyone else had this problem? Is there any spot I should look in
particular? The car only has 5300 miles on it.
Thanks,
Cam

Subject: Re: DeLoreans on eBay
I doubt the engine picture is the same as the person claiming a scam
is going on. Is it so strange that almost every DeLorean engine
compartment looks the same? I bought my DeLorean on ebay a month ago
and the auction was revised three times by the seller. That doesn't
mean there's a scam going on or they're trying to cover something
up. As would be expected anytime you plan on spending so much on
something, go there and look at it before you put any money down.
That is obvious. If something WAS misrepresented, THEN take action.
Don't cry to ebay when you see a picture that MIGHT look like yours.
