Bridge of Weir leather, the OEM supplier of DMC leather, remared on their
web site that they also preform restoration services for cleints leather
needs.
In addition, they also mention on the web site that they supplied leather
for DMC and Rolls Royce.

Hello,
since i am an assistant manager at Jiffy Lube, i think i can answer your
questions! just look at your owners manual for what type of oil to use.
you
can use 5w30, 10w30, and 10w40 for most types of weather conditions (and
it
is easy to find). i buy mobil 10w40. works for me!
if you want to go to jiffy lube, you shouldn't have a problem. but you
will
want to bring your own oil filter because we don't normally carry the
correct
one. Jiffy Lube has no problem if you bring your own filter. we can
order
one for you but you will have to wait for a while as someone at an auto
parts
store brings one and then it might not be the exact filter you want. so
just
bring your own from a vendor! Jiffy Lube only has 5w30, 10w30, and 15w40,
however any of those weights are actually ok. probably go with 10w30
since
15w40 has an extra charge since it's only in bottles.
as for the drain plug, we have the right tool. it's actually used for
imports which have transfer case or differential drain plugs. happens to
be
what the delorean drain plug needs! it will be funny though - at first
they
will want to open the 'hood'!! then they're find out the engine is in the
back! you will want to tell them how to open the engine compartment
correctly since i would never want someone who doens't know what they are
doing to try to open the engine cover when they don't know where the
release
is!!
good luck!
Andy

To substantiate the claim concerning the door fitting problems, here is a
quote from July '81 Car & Driver, "As luck would have it, the first 500
sets
of doors were pressed on sloppy prototype tooling. They simply can't be
made to fit properly, in our opinion. If we were John Z., the first 500
cars, with those doors, would be permanently banned from sale. Instead,
they'd fan out to every dealer across the land to become static displays
(with the doors UP, so fits couldn't be checked)."
While discussing a door adjustment problem with Rob Grady, he mentioned
that
VINs from 500 to 1000 (the first 500 production cars) had doors that were
slightly longer front-to-back giving less room for adjustment.
So if you are shopping for a DeLorean that is to be put to any real use, I
would steer clear of these early VINs.

Many people it seems as asked about service in Charlotte. I live about
20 miles north of charlotte in Davidson, and I took my Car to the
griffin Brother tire place in Cornelius. Ask for tony. They do tires,
but will also do many basic mechanical things as weel fuel pumps oil
changes etc. I got a letter from A british car club in the Lake Norman
Area, They are having an informal meeting (nno dues) at the Atlanta
Bread company acroos from Target off exit 26 on I-77 at 9:00 on Saturday
Jan 26. I will be bringing my delorean if anyone in the Charlotte Lake
Norman Area would like to come, we can talk cars. Just FYI

Subject: the width of the delorean
Hello,
The last time that I asked this, I got different answers. I know that
the length of the car is 168 inches and the height is 44.8, but I
want to know exactly what the actual WIDTH of the car is. Some places
state 73.1 inches and others state 78.3. Which one's the right one?
Can anyone clarify?
Thanks
Grigor
