Just wondering if I have a hybrid...

My 8 liter, 1968 Caddy daily driver starts with a small electric motor
(aka a "starter") that assists the internal combustion motor in ramping
up to speed. Once the internal combustion motor is at or above "idle"
speed, an electric regeneration unit (an "alternating current
generator", or "alternator") stores electric current in an array (or
"battery") of electric storage cells to power the electric motor.

Some definitions I found the web.

Wikipedia: "A hybrid vehicle or gas-electric hybrid powered vehicle uses
a mixture of technologies such as internal combustion engines (ICEs),
electric motors, gasoline, and batteries."

www.aacog.com/air/Learning/GtoL.htm
/air/Learning/GtoL.htm&usg=AFQjCNG92F74bwhSzvu5YRm3CC0iE4AaaQ> : "Any
vehicle is hybrid when it combines two or more sources of power that can
directly or indirectly provide propulsion power."

I know my D isn't a hybrid, since the battery always seems to be
drained...
