More info on the gullwing Volvo is available on their site at

Right now it is just a concept car, but who knows what will happen.  
Looks like the gullwings are hinged pretty close to the outside of the 
car, so you would not get the good side clearance that you do with the 
D. . . .not a bad looking car . . .
