RE: [DMCForum] Re: DMCH in latest issue of Forbes...

Yah, I don't like Walmart myself.  I stopped shopping there a while ago.  I think Walmart is just pure greed.. there is no need to have a walmart 10-15 mins from each other everywhere you go.  Makes communities look cheap, and i hate its flea market atmosphere.. people in that store like a bunch of cattle lined up one after another.  People are free to do whatever they want, but that's just me.

Thats right, at least DMCH isn't driving other competitors to the ground.  I don't mind paying extra for stuff as long as the quality is there.

I wouldn't compare them to Wal-Mart.  Wal-Mart drives the local businesses into the ground, and even their own suppliers, so that cheap Americans can get their product for a few bucks less.
DMCH bought a bunch of parts and turned it into a very successful, and profitable business.  They don't claim to have the cheapest parts around, and last I saw, they weren't trying to put the rest of the businesses  out of business.

Hi guys,

Well, I just read the article in Forbes magazine.

I have never been to DMCH or DMCF, or have any experience with them as far as service.  I will just purely comment on the article itself.  I somewhat didn't like the way the article was written; to me, it just seemed amateur.  It concentrated mainly on how the company's founder managed to get a bunch of cheap parts, and is now making a killing.  Well, i see nothing wrong with that; he had a vision and took advantage of it.  Wal-mart does the same thing.  It's not like these cars are rolling out of the assembly line brand new anymore... theoretically, DMCH's supply of restorable assets are diminishing.

I wish the article had gone more into what were DMCH's future plans.. besides the engine upgrade, and more about the company's financial history throughout the years.

Well, i suppose DMCH is a major player in keeping Deloreans alive.. I guess that's all that matters in the end.

i doubt anyone is afraid of anyone or any vendor out there.  Most probably just don't speak up because they don't want to be embarrased or feel uncomfortable at the next car show.

It took a long time because Chris Bowman is a much more patient and

No one was afraid of Joe that I am aware of.

So let me rephrase that - is ANYONE afraid of ANY vendors?  Please
contact me.  I am just interested in seeing if Marc's statement is
indeed accurate, because I have never heard of anyone being afraid of a
vendor.

Or, if you follow Marc's self-fulfilling prophecy of sorts, no one will
respond because they are afraid to.  I don't buy that either, but it's a
very convenient debate tactic. "If no one speaks up, then I am right"...

How many YEARS did it take to get the real story on
DMC Joe??

Maybe it is more people are afraid to say something
bad about any vendor... Or anyone they see as "having
respect" in the community.

.... And I find it hard to believe anyone would ADMIT
to being afraid, or having some other reason not to
speak out on something they feel is wrong.
