RE: [DMCForum] Re: Oil Companies - No Response

Because gasoline sales and gasoline refining are different animals.
Regardless of the name on the station, most gasoline stations receive
their fuel from the closest sources - no matter who owns the sources.
Wholesale sales and retail sales are different.

When the local wholesaler or refinery raises their prices, it affects
all of the stations in the area, because nearly all of the stations
receive their fuel from the same place.  It's that simple.

We all know that the US lost 10% of its oil refining capability from
Katrina.

We this should translate into 10% less oil sales (temporarily) and 10%
less profit for the Oil companies.

Whoa!  Wait a minute!  The oil companies can not afford 10% less
profit.  So they raised the price of gasoline 10% OVERNIGHT..( Only
collution allows this to happen.)   REMEMBER  NOT EVERY oil company has
a refinery there- only some of them.   HOW COME THEY ALL raised their
prices.

10% price increase = 10% more profit = no loss in profit.

Anyone here about an only company saying they are going to work "round
the clock"  to get the refineries back up and running and save people
money and prevent a fuel oil "shortage"  this winter and high prices.
????

Please let me know if you have heard this altruistic statement by any
oil company.   Restore some belief they they don't all act in collusion
and are just screwing us all.
