Re: [DMCForum] Re: Sanden 508 or 510, what should I use? Vin 3323 Update

IIRC: If I Recall Correctly

When I did the AC in 01860, It was the first time I
realized that there was an early and later style
dryer.  The 10 min of research I did on it led me down
the path of having to change hoses to make the new
dryer fit.  For whatever reason, I decided not to do
it and just re-used my old dryer....  But when I
evacuated the system, I heat it up with a heat gun to
boil the moisture out of the dryer (Water boils at
lower temperature under vacuum, so don't make it too
hot!).  After re-charging with R-12, it has been
running fine since the summer of 2002.

A call to Grady will probably get you a list of
exactly what you need to convert to the newer style
dryer.  I don't know if the Corvette is a direct
replacement for it though.
