I think they have added complexity that is not needed.
all wheel drive would require additional
suspension/drive components.  Maybe if you were to
build a new frame from parts of other cars (right
Rick??) it would not be so bad..  But to put a system
like this in a DMC, I'd say weld some chain sprockets
to the half-shaft and hook it to an electric motor.

But, to make it like the high school kids did, you
would first need to make a diesel DeLorean.  It's up
to Martin to find us some engines!!!  :)
