[DMCForum] Re: Traffic.

Ahhhh, driving in Chocolate City.... There was like only one gas
station that we could find within several MILES of DuPont Circle!
Scared the hell out of my friend when I whipped the car around in
reverse to beat a cabbie to the ONLY open pump! Not too bad on the
way back, except I got blocked off by an agressive driver, and missed
my turn-off, and wound up in Crystal City.

Houston though... Whoever designed the Sam Houston Tollway, they need
to be shot. You either have to get off a mile ahead of Old Humble
Road, or overshoot it a mile to make a U-turn to get to DMC. And it's
like that with almost every single major offramp! I agree it was a
pain in the ass. And the Tollway wasn't cheap either...

A city with a really cool freeway system is Columbus, Ohio. They have
a whole bunch of freeways that curve around downtown, and will form a
loop around all of it. The traffic is light enough, and the
interchanges are designed for speed, with the ramps spread out and
banked. So you can easily lap downtown like a giant circle track! Now
THAT would be a cool place to race! But I wasn't fond of them giving
major streets highway #'s, instead of names.
