I can't afford that luxury. Of course I didn't even when I could. You
would roll the eyes right out of your head if you saw the way I live:
ancient C-band satellite dish that I keep up & running, microwave that
looks like something from Jules Vern (cover's off because the plastic
door release snapped -- simply reach in & pop it with a screwdriver),
world's oldest lawn mower, world's oldest washing machine, and of
course I still drive the same car I drove in high school (one of the
few tags I didn't turn in).

Perhaps it was all preparation for survival on these stupid
unemployment benefits (although I shouldn't complain: at least I'm
getting paid to go to school -- barely).
