Re: [DMCForum] Seat Options

I thought DMCH was selling reproductions...??

IMHO, the DMCH covers did not look as nice.  I did not
sit in one, so I can't comment on the comfort.  Given
the choice of a local shop or DMCH, I'd probably go
with DMCH.

One of the biggest problems with how the local shops
do it versus the OEM is the ripples in the leather.
As the seats age, they become hard and smooth.  A
correct seat is MUCH softer, and the leather is NOT
smooth.

The story I heard on the OEM seats from Europe is that
some kit car company bought the stock from the company
that made them for DMC.  Later, one of the owners over
there tried to track down those covers and found the
kit car company, he then purchased the remaining stock
along with additional material to make many more...
and has been selling them to us (on ebay, and other
places) for a while now.
