[DMCForum] Re: Shifter Problem

Same thing happened to me once. Except mine snapped in the middle of
the housing projects, while taking a shortcut to the freeway.
Washington & Down Wy.

Just unscrew the remaining portion of the bolt out, and screw a new
one in. I was able to do with, with both wheels on ramps. It's
cramped, so if clausterphobia is a problem, lift the front too. Just
make certain that you grease the newly installed pivot bolt, and the
corresponding bolts as well. That way, you'll lessen the chances of
this happening again.

Before the new bolts were available from Hervy, I fashioned a nice
ghetto replacement out of a grade * bolt, and a cut length of brake
line.
