Spring is stuck ?
What would ist stick to ? that rubber pad ?
What kind of spring compressors do you use ? It sounds to me more like
you haven't compressed them correctly. Be aware with those cheap crap
compressors that mount from the outside to the spring. What you really
need is the good ones used by mercedes. two steel plates that are slipped
into the spring, one on the top, one at the bottom. Then the compressing
cylinder is inserted from the bottom - where the shock was mounted.

Try to borrow those and you'll be done in 10 minutes !
Or use that crappy stuff and see how the spring jumps all around and
destroys whatever is in its way when it decompresses within 1/100 second.
Also you may scratch your frame and control arms with that crap.
Been there, did it, found the correct tools and now its totaly easy.

And please don't cut the springs on the car ! We're not on the junk
yard level, are we ?

email me privately if you want to see pictures of this compressor.
