I was going to post the same response so will just add the following.  On my
car, a previous owner put those little rubber "H"'s between the coils on the
front springs, which is just as bad.

My car sits somewhere between stock and lowered, but I have no idea why
these are in there.  I haven't pulled the front suspension apart yet.
