Re: [DMCForum] 1983 DeLorean on Ebay..

A couple things though...

The 17xxx series were supposed to be for Canada - I know that, I just parked
mine after cruising around. The instrument cluster in that one is not
metric. I have heard that some have been converted back at KAPAC and saw one
at PF. What gets me is that on the Canadian Spec cars there is also a narrow
plate riveted above the vin plate on the door post. Not only does this one
not have that plate, but the vin plate is centered and it does not look like
anything else was riveted there.

I am wondering now how much of the conversion for Canada was done at the
factory and how much was done by KAPAC. Could it be that some or all of the
Canadian Spec cars were converted for Canada using factory parts that came
shipped with the 17xxx cars? How else would you explain the different
position of the vin plate?

I took a quick pic of mine - http://www.oneskydojo.com/delorean/PICT0002.JPG
