[DMCForum] Re: Dumping a bunch of DeLorean Engine parts

Was kinda hoping Bill would jump in here and tell everyone about
it.  Basically, the exhaust tubing comes off of the manifold and
wraps out around underneath the rear axle shafts, and then toward
where you would put your muffler.  You'd need to purchase 2 mufflers
and hang them in the mounting locations.  They should have a 2"
input diameter on them.

Bill R. did this using universal muffler hangers, and his car is
actually the one you see in the picture.  He did this I think around
May of 2004 and has been running it like that ever since.

I just added another picture on e-bay to show what you asked a
little more clearly.  Again, it's Bill's car we're looking at there.

Bill enjoys telling people why you would want to do this...it makes
slave cylinder replacement much easier, not to mention if you remove
the stock muffler you free up a load of space in the engine bay.

Having the tubing be flexible also makes it much easier to remove
from the car later if you decide to do something more elegant
(headers?).  In a nutshell, it makes for a bit more horsepower
relatively cheaply and non-permanently (according to the seat of my
pants).
