Well, it has been exposed since 1985 when he bought the car.  The fascias
peeling show that.  The car also spent a lot of time not under the carport,
in direct sunlight.

Then some batches of facias were more prone to warpage than others.

P.S. parked under a carport only exposes the front fascia part of the
time to the sun and it matters what direction the front facia was
pointed to.
