[DMCForum] My first post "Dave Manning & Sonny V...."

Well well well..... hello everyone. I never thought I'd see the day that I
would have to post to this forum. Alas, I now have to... I joined this list
a few weeks ago so I would stop getting invitations to join from some of the
mods (Marc)! Lol! Just kidding. Seriously though, I am so disappointed with
the moderators of the DML that I am now going to post this letter I wrote to
the DML today, which was ultimately rejected by Marty. I don't know why yet,
and I doubt I will ever know... I think it may have to do with the
(allegedly) large number of DMC Houston kiss-asses out there complaining
about how they didn't want to see another post showing James Espey's true
colors.... boohoo!

Anyway, here's my letter that was rejected in its entirety. Enjoy!

I know some of you don't want to read any more posts on this topic. If so,
then just scroll past this post. but I know you're going to read it anyway.
:-)

Marc brought up a good point. How many times can we say "I like this oil" or
"What are the best tires for DeLoreans", or "What kind of gas should I put
in my DeLorean?" ALL of these questions have multiple answers in the
archives. Take a look, you'll see. So why is it so bad to discuss vendors
and their business practices on this list? This is a MAJORLY IMPORTANT part
of the future of this automobile, and it is a DeLorean related discussion.
Should there only be praises when we speak of a vendor because they help us
keep our cars running? I don't think so. I think if a vendor is being
deceptive, no matter what good they do, the truth deserves to be told. And
by the way. vendors are in business to make money. Yes, most are enthusiasts
of the car too, but it's a business and it's in their best business to keep
the cars running. There is nothing wrong with that either! It just looks
like some people think that DMCH is doing them a "favor" by selling them
parts and making new parts available. It's business people! It amuses me to
think of people saying to DMCH, "Thank you for selling me these parts."
LOL!!!

Anyway, here's my main point: I was watching a list of 101 Celebrity oops's
on E!. Number 74 on their list was similar to this situation. Sony created a
false movie critic named Dave Manning that wrote movie reviews for
Connecticut's Ridgefield Press. Dave Manning "loved" all of the movies that
Sony couldn't get good reviews on so people would go see the movie. And Sony
posted these fake quotes everywhere. The result? Several lawsuits and Sony
paid $326,000 in a settlement. Quote from the E! website: "Sony was accused
of deceptive advertising projects for inventing Manning and his glowing
reviews of Sony films and attributing them to the state's Ridgefield Press."
Also, two Sony executives were suspended for 30 days without pay.

It seems like the courts agree with me, Marc, and a bunch of others on this
list. For those of you who disagree, you're entitled. but the laws of this
country do not agree with you.

So now I ask... was that so bad? Did it break any rules of the DML? I
believe the answer is no to both questions. So here's proof of bias on
behalf of the DML moderating team.

May history repeat itself with DMCH becoming another DeLorean One that will
forever divide the DeLorean community with its sleazy and slimy ways.

---Dan
