That is the scenario to be avoided...

I'm planning on building a John Lane-style PRV, with the bottom end
massively overdeveloped.  Heavier 1987 Volvo PRV splayed main bearings block
and crank, racing pistons with extra rings, etc.

He runs a rally car with this setup, and runs it hard for 3-4 hours at a
time with no real issues.  I'm planning to more or less follow his lead as
he has already done the trial-an-error work.
