[DMCForum] Re: 24valve 3.0 PRV

Hello all,

Yes, engine and gearbox are almost French parts as this engine has
been used in many different cars (Peugeot 505, 604, 605, Citroen XM,
Alpine A310, A610, all Venturi...).
It's possible to swap the crankcase on the engine as some Alpine A310
use the 24V PRV in the same position as the DeLorean.
I've been told by an Alpine specialist that you just have to unbolt
the crankcase off the 24v PRV and bolt on the one from the DeLorean
engine without any kind of problems.

I can ask Citroen/Peugeot a quote for a new engine, I've already ask
for it some years ago and I can not remember the exact price but it
could be about $5.000, I have to check with the dealer to be sure. I
think it could be possible to get engine to a better price here or
perhaps to get it for $5.000 shipped, I do not really know.

The French opinion is not bad concerning American people and I do not
place all Americans in the same bag as Bush. For my part, I prefer to
make my own opinion myself, without media or governments
announcements by reading mailing list or speaking directly to
American people like DeLorean (or other car) lovers.
Usually, Americans who "hate" France like to drink Champagne, use
French perfumes and like to come in France for holidays. ;o)
In the near future, I hope I could make a big journey in USA too.

Best regards from France,

Chris.
