[DMCForum] Re: 24valve 3.0 PRV

Hi Martin,

I'm ringing around all the scrap yards at the moment trying to find
one. A few have said they have a 3.0 v6, but are unsure if its the 12
or 24 valve, so I'll have to go and take a look. If you know of any
I'd appreciate a tip!!

I was aware allright that the manifolds would be different, and would
have to be made up.

I'm assuming the crank case will have to be swapped over, do you know
if it will for sure?

I'm in no particular rush to find the engine, so will hold out until
a 24valve comes up. I don't want to go to all this trouble to end up
with a 12 valver. I'm going to search as many scrap yards in Ireland
as possible, and also in England, but hopefully I'll find one this
side of the pond to save on a boat ticket! If I have to though, I'll
buy a complete car in France and drive it home, worst case scenario.

Will also look at the XM's, thanks for that. Were all the XM V6's
24valve, or did they also come in 12 valve?

So you think its a worthwhile swap if a good engine can be found?

Thanks,
John
