Hey John,
I heared of one frame that was dipped into liquid zink.
But that's not galvanizing.
The guy had the material of the frame tested before he had it
dipped. He couldn't measure any differences afterwards.
But still the frame needs to be stripped before it is dipped into the zink
otherwise the epoxy won't come off completely or worse - the zink won't
cover the whole frame.

Painting it afterwards is always good, as it will protect the zink
from oxydizing.

Subject: galvanising chassis

Hi Lads,
ANyone have any opinions on hot dip galvanising the DeLorean frame?
I'm thinking of doing it to mine....

The liquid should strip all the epoxy off on its own and get into all
the hard to reach areas. Then I think I would like to powdercoat the
frame back to silver, although the galvanised metal probably would
not need this.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
John
