I know nothing about computers other than "on", "off" and "send". I had a lady here today for 1.5 hours putting my logo on all outgoing business emails, and "tidying" it up. That cost me $100.00. She loves working on computers. She gives lessons, she gives seminars, she hosts sites, and makes up websites. She is a ball of fire, has $0.00 invested other than business cards and gets referrals from customers like me who, although stuck with a large invoice, had the work done correctly the first time. What I'm saying, is, there are other ends to the computer business. But the bottom line is, you have to enjoy what you spend the workday doing. She would never say that she does "computer crap".

Traditionally the clothing business is sometimes called the rag business. My Dad made his living in that industry and would get furious if someone degraded his trade. He used to say that he never sold rags. He was a ladies wear clothing merchant

I have a dear, dear friend who loved selling vacuum cleaners door to door. In my mind, you have to be nuts to do that. Not only did she love it, she made over $125,000.00 a year for years. Now, unfortunately, she's dying from brain cancer. 

Computers, vacuums, dresses, pens, printed cups, whatever!  Do something that gives a personal feeling of achievement, and be proud of what ever your chosen profession happens to be!

  In my case, I am not too happy working every day with computers. Its 
  fine for now, but I hope I have a more interesting job in a few years 
  time. The only reason I decided to get a degree in 
  IT&Telecommunications was at the time I chose the course (1998) the 
  IT industry was booming in the USA, and I figured it was the best 
  line of work to get me a full time job in the USA, and I could get 
  sponsored by a company for a visa. Never actually had an interest in 
  pursuing it as a long term career. In fact, I would have been much 
  happier doing automotive engineering, or music, or being a teacher. 

  My plan is still to get to the USA thru IT, work at it for another 10 
  years after that, and then reassess if I really want to be doing 
  computer crap for the rest of my life, who knows what I'll actually 
  decide to do at that point, but the thing is, until that point, I'll 
  always do the best job I can, take pride in my work, and refer to my 
  job to anyone who asks, as "computer crap", hope this clears it up a 
  bit for you! At least this is my view of this line of work.
