I am working on getting that piece, and many others, powder coated.  The
factory paint that was on there, though applied well, didn't stand up to the
rust.

By the way, does anyone have a really good picture of how the torsion bar is
supposed to look in the front hinges and can post them in the photos
section?  One of mine looks like it may be trying to spin inside and I want
to make sure before I put everything back together.

Spray that section with some "Rustoleum" spray paint and be done with
it.
