Too lazy to find the link now, but some time ago I
read about how Scientology (with the help of Tom
Cruise) was providing "free therapy" for some of the
fire fighters who had lung related problems after 9/11

Do you think the Church of Scientology did this
because they are good citizens?  I doubt it.

Would you be OK with YOUR tax dollars going to the
Church of Scientology to rehabilitate alcoholics?? 
Knowing full well, they are "preaching" as part of the
treatment?
