Hey Lauren, I'll second the recommendation on Barge Cement.
I still have a gallon can from when I used to make shoes.  I
first learned of it when I started wearing Birkenstocks.  (I
wore those before they were cool!)  The problem with Barge
is that it comes in a can.  I would have to thin it too much
to spray it, and then I would have to clean the gun.  It's
too expensive to buy in little tubes.

After years of research trying to make comfortable shoes,
I've learned that the best shoes are no shoes at all!
