[DMCForum] Re: fuel and electrical suggestions... (Greg)

They said the Titanic wouldn't sink either...

What are you trying to accomplish with your gas tank? I'm running a
generic low PSI pump attached to the stock electrical circuit. The
pump is weathertight but not submersible, so I made a fuel tight
sleeve for it to sit in from a short piece of aluminum 2" NPT pipe
(exact same OD as a Bosch pump) and cap -- pump sits in the pipe, pipe
sits in a DeLo pump boot. Below that is a short brass nipple straight
down to one of John Hervey's pick up screens. I used to have one of
John Hervey's overpriced baffles too, but it self destructed. I made a
replacement from a large size tuna fish can. Is about 1,000 times
sturdier and cost $1.69. You live, you learn.

I capped off the original fuel plumbing at both ends and ran a new
line to the back of the car. Inline cartridge filter is located in the
engine compartment for easiest changes.
