As with any moderated forum, it's completely random and dependant on
who is moderating at the time, his particular mood, the alignment of
the planets, etc.
I always try to thank people for their help and report on my
experience. For instance, "Thanks for your advice with x. I did it,
and it worked great. Had some confusion due to y and z, but figured
out that.. blah blah blah." I've sent several of these messages and
none have been approved. It's always, "You can thank people privately.
Nobody else on the list needs to see that." Which I think is total BS,
but whatever.
I lost my account on a major forum after years of participation and
thousands of posts because one or two of their idiot moderators didn't
agree with my views. These clowns wouldn't just delete your posts;
they'd go in and heavily edit them, changing the point you were trying
to get across. This on a forum with some 50,000 subscribers.
