I used the heavy-duty variety of Cascade that costs a little
more than the regular.

It didn't seem to hurt it at all.  Last night I flushed it
with white spirits (mineral spirits, not that hocus-pocus
variety :-).  I still need to blow it out with dry air &
flush with Dura 141 and put it in the car and get the hoses
threaded through the frame and and and... sheesh!

At present I'm re-insulating my a/c box with Great Stuff
expanding foam insulation.  It looks like a big Cheesey-Poof
ala South Park.

Trust me, it will look much better after I sand it down.
I've done this with stainless steel kitchen sinks and had
excellent results.
