Maybe it's a VIN # thing, but I believe the original was braided.  I had one
for the Vixen.

I never noticed such a thing on my cars.  Maybe
someone replaced it on your are already with "sheilded
wire"??  Try disconnecting that wire, and bypass it
with a new one.
