What I meant about the heater core supply hose is: you can easily
remove it from below.

I bought an overpriced braided line, already flared of course. But
they are definitely standard 45 degree flares just like you'd make
with a tool -- female mating surface on the line, male mating surface
on the device, union, etc. Am assuming by "bubble flare" you mean
those funny flares like you see on metric sized brake lines at the
parts house with a male mating surface on the line.

I guarantee threads on the master cylinder are American 1/4" SAE. Not
sure what size the union above the transmission is (is not 5/16" SAE),
but the nuts do take a 5/8" wrench better than anything metric. If
anyone on List/Forum has already determined the size of that fitting,
we all could save $120 by simply bending a steel line with appropriate
fittings at either end.

Flaring a hydraulic line isn't exactly rocket science. Did 14 on my
re-lined Lincoln, none of which leak. Hardest part was routing the
lines -- originals were installed on the frame before the body. Is no
way to follow them without separating the body again (I made my own
routes, hence drilling holes in my 3/8" thick frame to move brackets
around). Suspect you'd encounter a similar problem re-lining a DeLorean.
