[DMCForum] Bearings

What type of sound would a failing rear wheel bearing make?

I know these things are pressed and can't be re-packed. Ever since 
I've owned the car I've had a quiet "wowowowow" sound from the rear 
and I'm just trying to pin it down. It's not getting any louder but 
I'd like to know what it is.

Removing the rear hub doesn't look -too- hard. Is it?
