As you probably read here recently, I found automatic
transmission fluid in Samuel's gear box.  I'm not sure what
weight it is, but I think it is less than 20W-50.

Except for possible hard shifting in very cold weather, I
don't see a point in lowering the oil viscosity.  Has there
ever been a case where 80 or 80 weight oil damaged a
transmission?

An additional factor to keep in mind is that transmissions
in DeLoreans can get very hot from the exhaust cross-over
pipe.  Maybe that could play a factor in what weight oil you
use.

One thing is for sure, I'm no expert! :-)
