[DMCForum] Re: Louie vs. the insurance co.

You're not rambling. I just put a post on the DML detailing research
I did with the local offices of three major insurance companies. I
urged non-insurance-savvy owners to contact their insurance companies
and ask hard questions. I won't repeat it all here. Just read it on
the DML when it posts.

I will say this: MY ins co will only pay other than "fair market
value" (which they have no idea what that is) if I provide them with
a written, signed, appraisal.

I intend to get one ASAP.

Thanks for the heads up though Rich! I've already suggested
everything to him that the people on the DML are saying. His problem
is that he was redoing his interior at the time, and already had
stuff out of the car, and so now the insurance company is trying to
say he had a poor condition car, and won't pay him more than $6k I
think. I hope everyone has learned some stuff from all of these
totalled DeLoreans this year... go out and make sure you insure your
DeLorean properly! I know *I* never ever thought I'd be in a wreck
with my DeLorean... much less the stupid thing get totalled.
Anyways... I'll stop my rambling now :-P. -Louie
