[DMCForum] Re: Completely off topic - and I mean COMPLETELY!!!!!!

Hi Marc,
America is founded on immigration. Not too long ago, your
grandfathers grandfather etc came from some other country to the USA!
It'll be a sad day when Americans decide they don't want any more
people moving there, and tighten up their immigration laws even
further.

As for the one guy/girl that will lose out on a job when I get one,
they are welcome to move to Ireland and work for HP, I'll put in a
good word for them.

I understand what you are saying, but it goes against the way the USA
was founded!!!

Companies in the USA might not be actively seeking to import workers
from Ireland, but they would not be opposed to it. I think I have an
advantage in one respect over American workers applying for the same
job as me - for Americans it's just another job interview, but for me
its a chance to fulfil a lifelong dream and have a chance for
permanent residency in the USA for me and my family, so I would put
110% effort into getting the job, and they would know they have a
very appreciative employee who will not up and leave the job for a
better one within 8 months. If it comes down to it, and the only
reason they won't hire me is because of the costs associated with
importing an employee on a H-1 visa, I will offer to pay these fees
myself. They are about $8k to $10k, which will mean bye bye to a SS
chassis for a few years. Do Americans really want an IT job so bad
they would pay $10,000 for it!!?

John
