RE: [DMCForum] Re: Greg's [CLASSIFIED] Red DeLorean

Unfortunately I have no way to get power to the car. Or, more correctly,
I
haven't been through the wiring yet and if you remember how my relay
compartment looks I don't have the nuts to put power to it yet.

I hope to get it running again very soon so this shouldn't be an issue, I
hope. I have also read a lot of stuff against using fuel stabilizers and
cleaners et al. My plan is to get the car running soon and then attack
each
component on an individual basis. Does this sound like a good plan?

Greg, there is no guarantee that the fuel system is actually drained. If
you circulate new fuel & stabilizer though the system by only running the
fuel pump, this will not circulate anything through parts of the
distributor
& injectors. I suggest popping out all the injectors, put them in jars
and
watch them spray. You will probably need to check the injectors anyway
before you get the car running. Use just one gallon of fuel and spike it
with a rich mixture of fuel stabilizer. Then every few months drain the
tank and do it again. I have two DeLoreans sitting around that I'm doing
this to. Then when I suck it out I can just throw it on a fire. Funny
how
new fuel doesn't flash & burn like the old stuff.
