Believe it or not, I actually saw them do it.  They dropped it out by Navy
Pier.  I also saw the big "highway pile up" scene where Elwood said "I've
gotta pull over".  The abandoned mall where they filmed the mall scene was
a few miles from my house too.  We named every wooden go-cart we ever
built "The Bluesmobile".

As if anyone cares.  =)

Nonetheless, that's one of my favorite movies ever...

  This reminds me that Universal had to get their red Pinto stationwagon 
  certified by the FAA before they could drop it from a helicopter to hit
