[DMCForum] Timing and Idle correlation

I posed this question to the DML but I will pick y'all's brains as well.

After I replaced the 02 sensor the car improved. Then again, last night,
it
seemed to be driving even better. However, the idle has gone a little
higher
than it was before. It used to be around 800-900, now it's around
1100-1200.
I checked the timing and noticed it's 14-15 deg BTDC.

Is the higher idle causing the timing to advance or are the two unrelated?
