Don't worry, I believed you about the vacuum. New injector seals and 
O-rings are in the mail.

All the heat is coming from the muffler. The engine compartment is 
holding up fine.

Believe it or not, my engine ran so cool that I couldn't get the fans 
to kick on at all just by idling. I had to drive it around the block 
and put the engine under load and THEN park for a minute for the fans 
to click.
