One thing I would like to add to this is about the time of day posting.
People have different work and sleep schedules.  Assuming one can not make
a
valid statement at 3:00 AM is not true.  My work schedule has me getting
up
at 4:00 AM, and at times going to bed at 8:00 AM.  Sometimes I do this
while
traveling as well.

My understanding is that this forum was created to allow free expression.
If one does not want to read what another has posted then delete it.  If
one
wishes to respond to it then so be it.  We all have a delete key.

An example of this is the recent discussion on 'ass hat'.  Would that have
been allowed on the DML?  I think not, but it was important for everyone
to
know about.  The messages that did make it through had to be specifically
tailored to do so.

Exactly.  If you dont like where a thread is heading then just delete the
messages.  Walt has a lot of good knoledge, and experiance to offer.
Sometimes his posts are very opionated, but that is how they should be
taken
as an opinion.  If he has facts to back what he says it is usually
something
that he has researched.

The fact that we can and do say what ever we want is important.  I dont
see
what is wrong as long as we continue to self moderate, keep things clean,
and try of offend everyone equaly.

And as far as Walt and others posting while intoxicated, I asked some EE
friends to try make an interface for those little portable breathalyzers.
So at least we will all beable to have one next to the keyboard and if we
blow above a limit sending email and e-bay bids will not go throught till
your limit comes down.
