There is no need to take it off, but if you do then you should replace the
two seals under it.

I strongly suggest replacing the hose connecting it to the water pump.  If
you use the PJ Grady silicone one then you have less worry about it coming
loose as regular rubber might.

It would also be a good time to replace the vacuum lines.
