[DMCForum] rough "billy" idle :-)

I've bugged enough people about this so i will keep plugging away.....my
car refuses to idle smoothly and seeks whenever i come to a light or stop
sign. On bad days it will sometimes even stall but usually the RPM will
dip to where the red battery light just starts to flicker on and then it
catches itself. Done all the normal tune up stuff and otherwise the car
runs great, accelerates fine and is peppy at highway speeds...I ahve had
the microswitch set up by David Teitelbaum and my 02 mixture is as close
to perfect as we can get it.....my freq valve buzzes louder then my wife
after i have spent 5 hours under the car :-)

I am hoping to have a functioning idle speed computer soon to test swap
with mine to elimate a computer problem. The one part I have not talked
about is the idle speed motor. Anyone ever have to replace theirs and what
symptoms did it give you....
I would like to play around with the idle speed motor to make sure it is
working....whatsa the best way to check it..unplug it while the car is
idling? what if i unplug freq valve at idle? will any of these give me a
direction to go in? I alos would like to make sure the microswitch is
elctrically working too.

At the same time i will double check for vac leaks....

thanks again
mike c
