Perhaps your transmission is shifting from left to right because of the
opposite force of driving in reverse.  If it were the CVs, I think it
would alternate when you go/stop.  Check the mounts.  My car is making a
similar noise, though when I turn from left to right.  LIkewise, it will
only clunk once if i turn left left left left, and not again till I turn
right... any ideas?

The power antenna has a red wire that runs across the car from the fuse
area to the idle computer area to the antenna.
