somebody put this thread out of its misery :-)

Lets move onto something like where the "baker's dozen" originated and
became 13 donuts :-) I have tried this at the local Krispy Kreme to no
avail :-)

The Imperial gallon used to be the same size as the U.S. gallon, but it
took over a third world gallon for "it's own good" and got a wee bit
larger.  =)

whoops! I think you are correct. The imperial gallon is bigger than the
USA gallon. Sorry.
